Gundam 00: War, Peace, and Giant Robots
Well, my first real mecha show… if I exclude Eva and Code Geass. It was okay. A lot of action, teenage angst and drama. :eyes:
It is nothing too spectacular, but it might be something to watch if one wants a show full of mecha action, beam sabers, mecha powerups and what not… And yeah, they pulled it off with stunning animation with nice and fast battle sequences.
Soldiers and Pacifists
The characters however seemed shallow. Yes, there was a background to them, but even so, things came out as forced and shallow just to portray a fake sense of reasoning and pander to shonen/mecha lovers.
Also, there was this element of excessive cheesiness, forced drama, forced emotion… Then you have characters addressing each other in full names a lot. It was a very stupid form of exaggerated seriousness.
I was in for more battles, action, lasers and explosion. It’s pretty much the only reason I watched it. So, I guess it was fine enough in that regard.
