Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo in Space

A treat it was to watch it. Exceptional story. Mind-blowing art. :eyes:

A Visual Masterpiece

The art is what draws the attention most. The characters were like painted glass… a multitude of colors, simply beautiful. Those elaborate textures, discrete designs, and the level of artistic flamboyance sets the show above many others.

Those static textile imagery gave such a unique effect… The art is vibrant, almost like a kaleidoscope.

Revenge in Space

Gankutsuou is loosely based on the novel The Count of Monte Cristo, with a futuristic setting. It is a story filled with romance, melodrama, revenge, conspiracy, friendship, trust and betrayal, jealousy, hidden pasts… The plot was good, not many complaints except a few here and there.

Overall, a visual treat. A must-watch. The sci-fi element simply was just to accentuate the excellent art. That being said, I was kinda peeved about those mecha duels. (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
