Fuujin Monogatari: A Hidden Gem of Slice of Life

A slice of life with a very distinctly sketchbook-like animation, as if it were something drawn on a flipping pad… A relaxing, slow-paced show that I found quite good. :eyes:

The Vibe

I liked what the slice of life entailed. With a languid pace, the show takes you to the life of these young middle schoolers and about how they learn to control the wind. It was good in that regard. A very relaxing show that gave me a lot of peace of mind to be honest.

The Animation Gripe

Now, I admit some of what my better experience with the show comes from the very drafty and flat animation, I think with a theme like the “wind”… a more crafty, and natural animation would have been much better.

And yes, this is coming from me who adores unique art styles like Kaiba and Gankutsuou… I wanted the wind to feel “natural” I guess. Instead, it went into a flat and drafty art style with a low budget.

Overall, this is a hidden gem of ‘slice of life’ and was a good watch. Something I would definitely recommend to fans of the genre.
